Yunchao Wei


Yunchao Wei is a Lecturer of AAII at UTS. Before joining UTS, he was a Postdoctoral Researcher in Beckman Institute at UIUC from Sep 2017 to Sep 2019, working with Prof. Thomas Huang. He received his Ph.D. degree from Beijing Jiaotong University in 2016. He was named as one of the five top early-career researchers in Engineering and Computer Sciences in Australia by The Australian in 2020. He received the Discovery Early Career Researcher Award of Australian Research Council in 2019. He has published more than 70 papers in top-tier conferences/journals (e.g., TPAMI/CVPR/ICCV/ECCV/NeurIPS/AAAI/MM), Google Citation 4600+. He organized LID workshops in CVPR 2019/2020, RLQ workshop in ICCV 2019, and ECCV 2020. He received many competition prizes from CVPR/ICCV/ECCV,  such as the Winner prizes of ILSVRC-2014, LIP-2018, Runner-up Prizes of ILSVRC-2017, DAVIS 2020, etc. His current research interest focuses on applying deep learning to computer vision tasks including classification, object detection, and segmentation.


The International Conference on Digital Image Computing: Techniques and Applications (DICTA) is the flagship Australian Conference on computer vision, image processing, pattern recognition, and related areas. DICTA was established in 1991 as the premier conference of the Australian Pattern Recognition Society (APRS).
